The story of Beauty and the Beast

Has been heard from west to east,

It’s the story of love, to say the least,

But unlike other fairy tales, it’s one with a twist.

Always its the prince who saves a damsel,

But this is a unique story that did tell,

That even a prince could be saved by Belle,

True hearts with love can break an ugly spell

It’s a story with many a lesson to learn, 

Vanity could lead to a life of no return,

Love can’t be demanded, it has to be earned,

Beauty lies in the soul, looks should not be a concern.

It is also a story of a strong girl,

Who wasn’t bothered about her curls,

For her it was books, more important than pearls,

It was the beast’s kindness that made her heart twirl.

 

Such story and more, 

Should be the part of our folklore,

Stating the importance of one’s core,

Reminding us, that’s what we should explore.

Also, a girl too can rescue a prince in distress,

She too can lead an army, can clear all mess,

She draws strength from love and can lead you to success,

Just give her freedom of choice and try not to possess.
