An Ascetic's Tragedy
An Ascetic's Tragedy
Antaryami can't love any woman now;
Beautiful women approach him
To gift him with their beauty and youth;
But the poor fellow can't love any of them,
Nor does he love his friends as previously he did;
There was a time he had suspected his Guru
Of having clandestine affairs with women;
The omniscient Guru was too kind
To harbour any grudges against him;
Now Antaryami sheds tears of remorse
And gratitude having understood the truth;
There were nothing outside him;
Having lost all sense of dualism
He is crying like a child;
Because centuries of dualistic concerns
And dualistic conceptions
Are no more alive;
All his enemies are inside him;
All the attractions and temptations
Of the world
Are asleep inside him;
"O my God what's this?
Take it back and let me enjoy,
Let me enjoy some worldly pleasures."
But that is no way possible;
He musters strength
And enters his state of Advaita
And drinks the syrupy nectar of Advaita
That makes him forget the world
And its transitory pleasures;
From inside the Guru says;
"Sonny it will take some time
To become fixed in that Oneness;
That is the naked Truth.
