AMELIORATION (Week 10 Theme: Hero)
AMELIORATION (Week 10 Theme: Hero)
In our adolescence, all of us had someone whom we idolized,
In most cases, the person would be known, either remotely or otherwise
The gender was important – as boys idolized men, to let things prioritize.
In our young days, screen heroes ruled supreme, in movies that moralized.
Celluloid heroes and heroines were different from real life ones,
For here we had real life characters – adding glory to abstract sums,
Real life idols were far more endearing than reel life ones – revolving on dances,
Hero worship is something which we all’ve left behind – measured childhood in tons.
The worlds of movies and that of real life are far apart
Flight of fancy is possible in movies akin to feats of Amelia Earhart
But reality is darker than fiction where surgeries are done to open heart
It’s strange that celluloid dreams are so distant from our existences – its counterpart.
It hardly matters whether Amitabh Bachchan or Gregory Peck reign over us –
Movie magic has made them, in ways endearing and in manners thus.
They’ve ruled box offices and our hearts alike without a fuss,
The world of moving images segregates reality – it really does!!
