A Ladder Towards The Limitless
A Ladder Towards The Limitless
As a child, a mortal youth with a puerile mind–
Counting out stars in the boundless depth;
Overhead in a clearer night.
They fueled my vision to be one amongst them,
Someday, sometime.
I started my ascend at an early age,
Building a ladder with bones and sticks
Each rung coated with sweat and tears,
Each step taken, drowning the upcoming fears
In tides of growing courage.
Not all steps were firm footed
Many a times I fell – to start over
But I had my life with me still,
And that was what mattered most.
Now , many years hence,
having just stepped on the last rung of time,
I looked back at the little me
Who , with chubby hands and dumpy feet,
Had just started making a ladder
And I know now that
He was already at the topmost rung
Touching the skies with empty hands..
