This year was certainly tough,

The path was heedingly rough,

Negativity was at its peak,

Just hoping somehow that we find what we seek.

Mayhem and chaos all around,

Everyday analogous to a nervous breakdown,

Fearful of things from daily use,

Surrendered in head, no flag of truce.

Laptops in hand, handsfree intact,

Reflecting similar feelings together in fact,

Anchors down yet up for sail,

Battering miseries without fail.

Uncovering reasons to stay in touch,

Few minutes of talk not asking for much,

Smiling was hard with disordered thoughts,

Retracing the memories, connecting the dots.

We have come a long way now,

Recouping ourselves somehow,

Just don't drop your guard as yet,

Hone your tone till it feels like blowing cornet.

Let new year strike at your door,

Drown in laughter, smile to your core,

I always will wish this for you,

When happiness comes knocking, may you lead the queue.
