I had been brought up in Delhi. From primary schooling, secondary and senior secondary, all took place in Delhi. For graduation, I moved to Bangalore, and here I am.

One day, while having a class of psychology, our teacher told us about the conscious and subconscious mind and its activities. How conscious mind gives its unnecessary information to the subconscious mind and stored there.

After that, the teacher asked us, " Do you know what are your dreams?"

I gave the answer that our aims in life became our dreams. Students give different answers. Then the teacher told us that anything we saw, hear, taste, touch and smell, these are the five senses that we perceive and send to the conscious mind. The conscious mind keeps necessary information with itself and donates the unnecessary one to the unconscious mind. The unnecessary part of our daily activities went to the unconscious mind and mixed up there and this is how we got our dreams.

He told us several phenomenal related to dreams like premonitions, Deja vu, etc.

It was a tiring day. I came back to my hostel. I was thinking about the lecture teacher gave us and I don't know when I slept. I woke up the next morning. I wondered what it was?

It was the same dream, again. I called my mom and cried in front of her. She tried to calm me down but I couldn't. My roommate saw me and asked me the reason but I couldn't reply to anything. My mother advised me to talk to any psychiatrist, so I decided to talk to my teacher who taught me yesterday.

I went to my teacher and asked her if I could get her 2 minutes. She said yes and she came out of the class. I asked her about the concept of repetition of Dreams. She told me that it happens only in some exceptional, cases like - we are involved in that dream somehow, or that is emotionally attached to us. She saw some sort of fear in my eyes and asked me the reason. On being insisted by her I told her " Actually, there is a dream which I am getting frequently and that's disturbing me."

"Tell me."

"It is some sort of dark place and there's a three to four years old... I mean it's a girl. She was being touched by some inhuman men and was raped. Her screams are still afresh in my mind. I couldn't overcome it. I told to my mom but she said that nothing that sort of happened in my childhood. But, I don't know, something is still missing. "

My teacher asked me if something that kind of...did anything happened with me? I said I don't know, " I don't remember anything."

After talking to my teacher, on her insistence, I went to the gynecologist to have my tests done. The results concluded that I was not raped.

My teacher told me that it might be because I had seen someone being raped in my childhood.

I told my mom. She said that literally, she didn't know when she had left me alone or something that happened.

I was still crying thinking about that girl's screams.

After that incident, I had undergone several counsellings to get rid of that trauma.

All dreams may not be meaningful but, all may not be meaningless.
